Welcome to a blog dedicated to a conversation about the Republic.  Someone mentioned that she would like to know more about the Founding Fathers, the men who created this Republic.  Over the next few weeks I will write and post a thumb sketch of founders weekly.  I will love to see your comments and questions, if any, about them or other matters relating to the establishment of the U.S. and any questions that come to you.  For now, I will leave with a quotable quote I like very much that I found in Sarah Palin's new book, America by Heart.

"If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my child might have peace." by Thomas Paine, a Founding Father.

  1. Our nation is at a crossroads. We are faced with the choice and necessity of maintaining our nation as a constitutional republic, or allowing ourselves and our great nation to drift into the dustbin of history.

In order to preserve our republic, WE THE PEOPLE must take charge of our government and enforce the absolute requirement that our government must constantly operate within the confines of the Constitution. In order to effectively accomplish that task, we must take every opportunity to educate ourselves as to the content and true meaniing of the Constitution. Only then, can we effectively require our elected representatives to operate the government wholly within constitutional boundaries as originally defined.

To do otherwise is to allow our nation to fall into government by elite - a long term prescription for the death of liberty as we know it.
